So we got a foot of snow today. This honestly really isn’t out of the ordinary around here, but as common as it may be it’s never enjoyable. Especially when you have a double wide driveway and only a snow shovel to clear it. The snow was so deep and heavy this time that instead of my usual push and toss method I was forced to scoop and throw instead about 75% of the time. The snow was just too deep and heavy to go anywhere with it pushing.
As one might guess, I am a chick so despite honest efforts to tone up my upper body I am not much for upper body chores like shoveling heavy snow. I made it through (burning almost 450 calories accoding to my heart rate monitor, SCORE!), but I am probably going to be almost bed ridden tomorrow from back and arm pain. I can already feel the sharp pains in my back starting whenever I get up and move around..ugh!
On the bright side, I’m hoping this is the last time I’m going to have to shovel anything like this in awhile. My dad has been promising us his old snow blower for about a month and a half now and plans on visiting me this weekend with my brother. I’m excited to see them and relieved to know my the extreme pain I will be tomorrow will not happen again any time soon because of the need to shovel. We’ve had over 90″ of snow already since mid-December..Yea you heard me, over 90″ of snow in the past month in a half. Why can’t I live on the beach? You have no idea how much I’m looking forward to our week long honeymoon in the Outerbanks in our beach house with a private little beach. *dreams*
